In this display you may place the cue ball with a click on the mouse button as long as it is not too near the edge of the display. The object ball is located at the origin. Here we revert to the animation/trajectory output because the interesting event happens so fast that the time dependence is not available to us.

After the cue ball is placed, hold down the mouse button and drag the head of the velocity vector to the desired location. The x and y components of the shot velocity vector are shown in the bottom margin as is the shot speed. When you have the shot velocity vector where you want it, click on Action to make the shot. The reset button sets you up for another shot. The balls stop moving when one of them gets close to the edge of the display, when you click the Cut button or when a fixed time passes.
